Nigerian Music legend and performer extraordinary Pa Fatai Olagunju otherwise known as Fatai Rolling Dollar is dead. The veteran musician who created the ‘agidigbo’ genre of music is known to have trained several veterans including Juju legend turned preacher Evangelist Ebenezer Obey and has had musical influence on several other music greats in the country. His song ‘won keresi number’ has over the years remained an anthem of some sort in and outside the country. Pa Rolling Dollar who plays the guitar in a magical way is also known for his energetic performance on and off stage while lending his voice to positive causes.
Nigerian President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commented on the demise of the entertainment icon, Mr Jonathan disclosed that the vacuum Rolling Dollar’s death has created in the Nigerian entertainment industry will be hard to fill.

Also reacting to Rolling Dollar’s death, Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State in a statement by the Director of Bureau of Communications and Strategy, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, described the octogenarian high-life maestro as a “testimony in perseverance and hope.”
The governor said Rolling Dollar’s life sojourn demonstrated that no time is too late for man to have a breakthrough in life.
He stated that the old artiste, who trained Ebenezer Obey in his heydays, shone at his old age when nobody ever thought of musical success for him again after his initial popularity at the beginning of his career.

Juju legend and protege of the demised musician, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey also described him as “an epitome of decency and a talented musician.”
He said: “I’ve lost my boss, my friend and my mentor. And I know the country has lost a talented singer.”

Younger singer and another protege of the late icon Ade Bantu revealed that Pa Rolling Dollar had breathing issues and other problems before his death.
The real cause of death has not been established but some observers has attributed it to cancer.
