NIGERIAN BORN CHIWETEL EJIOFOR LOOSES OUT AT THE OSCARS -As Kenya’s Lupita Nyong’o shines

“No matter where you’re from your dreams are valid” was the emotional closing Kenya born Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong’o used as she made her acceptance speech after she won the award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2014 Academy Awards for her role in the epic “12 years a slave”.
The big winners were the 2013 blockbusters ’12Years a slave’ ‘Gravity’ with both movies carting home most honors of the night.
It was however not a good night for Nigerian born British actor Chiwetel Ejiofor who was a nominated for Best Actor in leading role lost to Matthew McConaughey who won the award for his performance in ‘Dallas Buyers Club’. The category which was described as a tough one also had hollywood veteran Leonado Dicaprio for his performance in ‘The wolf of Wall Street’ as well as Christian Bale who was nominated for ‘American Hustle’.
The 86th Oscars was a night of glamour, radiance and splendor as television stars tried to outshine one another in various apparels.
