DAVIDO LEADS NOMINEES’ LIST AS MAMA RETURNS

‘We congratulate all the nominees for the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards. This year, the MAMA offers a stunning platform for African artistes, it also celebrates the young personalities, leaders and creatives who are making a positive impact on the continent,’ Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President of MTV Africa disclosed as the nominees for MTV Africa Music Awards, which will hold on Saturday, June 7 were unveiled in grand style at The Sands, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Nigeria’s Davido tops the nomination list alongside South Africa’s Mafikizolo and Uhuru with four nods. They are followed by pop duo Psquare who were nominated in three categories. Other Nigerian nominees are 2face, Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, Olamide, Don Jazzy, Clarence Peters et al.
Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Tv star Omotola Jalade Ekeinde also got surprise nominations in the non-music category.

Voting for the MTV Africa Music Awards opens at http://www.mtvbase.com from Wednesday, April 16 until midnight of Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
