Despite the downpour in the early hours of Saturday 23rd of November 2013,new entertainment power couple Tiwatope Salvage and Tunji Balogun practically grounded activities in Nigeria’s commercial capital,Lagos as the highly celebrated couple finally tied the knots.
Influential personalities from all walks of life made appearances which definitely qualifies the epoch celebration for an event of rhe year award. The event which took place at the Ark Vicinity located on Okunade Bluewater Zone, off Remi Olowude Street, Lekki.
Veteran Juju musician King Sunny Ade was on set with his full band to the delight of the couple,their friends, family and guests. Other new generation musicians also took to the stands to entertain the guests.
Guests include legendary journalist,publisher and former presidential hopeful , Bashorun Dele Momodu and an array Nollywood stars, musicians and comedians who apparently ignored the wedding ceremony of colleague, Ushbaby for Tiwa and Tunji.
Television and radio personalities were not left out of the star studded event.
The list of celebrities present include; Mavin CEO;Don Jazzy with label ensigns D’Prince and Dr. Sid, producer Temitayo ‘Ty-mix’ Ibitoye, Davido and his HKN gang, Iyanya and his MMMG team, Djs Jimmy Jatt and Exclusive, Banky W, bride’s female contemporaries ;Eva Alordia, Emma Nyra, Niyola, Waje, Omawumi, Sasha, Lami Philips and Zaina. The thespians present were Funke Akindele, Eniola Badmus, Rita Dominic, Uti Nwachukwu, Karen Igho, Ghanian Juliet Ibrahim and Yvonne Nwosu.
The media personalities was led by Kennis music heavyweight; Otunba Dayo ‘D1’ Adeneye and his wife with others like HipHipWorld boss;Ayo Animashaun, Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi, Tolulope ‘Toolz’ Oniru, Toke Makinwa, Dayo Emphraim, Eku Edowor, Ebuka Obi-Chiwendu, Dotun (Cool Fm), Noble Igwe, Linda Ikeji, Denrele Edu amongst others. Julius Agwu and Seyi Law were some of the representatives of the humor industry. Others include dance phenomenon, Kaffy, celebrity make up act; Toyin Lawani and fiance Trigga Kess, hype man; Special Ed, Davido’s former manager; Asa Asika, Nicole Chukwu (Naeto’s wife), the Okoye spouse; Lola Omotayo and Anita, Michele Dede, Fade Ogunro and former Miss World Agbani Darego.
The event which could be described as one of the largest celebrity gathering of 2013 didn’t however go without the absence of some expected celebrities. Top on this list is pop group Psquare who were understandably busy in East African country Tanzania. Delectable Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde who was surprisingly absent also took to micro blogging site Twitter explaining that “If there was any wedding I wanted to attend, Tiwa it’s yours!!! Invite only delivered today. Oh dear… Love you loads and I know your day will be as beautiful as you.”
Other top celebrities who were surprisingly absent were Genevive Nnaji, Dbanj, Mercy Johnson, Wande Coal, etc.
Tunji Balogun also know as Teebillz also doubles as the manager of his new bride and together they own 323Entertainment company.
